The
whereabouts:
Garden City is on the East Side of the Nile very close to downtown,
actually it represents downtown's front on the great river.
Garden City overlooks both "Zamalek"
and "Manial" islands as for the neighborhood itself Kasr El
Aini Street from the East and the Corniche from the West border
it. Its North is occupied by the Semiramis and Shepherd
hotels, as well as Kasr El Nil Bridge, formerly known as Kasr El Dobarah
area.
Descending
Southwards you will find a number of embassies especially closer to
the Corniche side, the most famous of these embassies are the English
and the American embassies face-to-face on both sides of one street.
The Southern district was occupied formerly by only Lady Cromer Hospital
Street (now Dr. Handussa). There are no main roads in Garden
City, they are only found around it, this is probably a consequent
of the relatively small size of the neighborhood.
